Orchard & Ponds Snakes in the Woodpile A soundtrack for Autumn on the back roads of Cecil County Maryland. DOWNLOAD HERE!
About the album:
For the second half of 2007 and the first half of 2008 I lived in a nowhere town in Chester County called Elverson, not terribly far from Cecil County actually. I was lucky enough to rent a small cottage that had no sound restrictions and a nice plot of land. It was in that cottage that Stephen and I crafted our best work together. Many late nights and early mornings. Many discussions about what it is that makes Cecil County a special place. A year spent writing an album that was stuck in both of our heads for years.
So we present to you an album about Cecil County and it’s pathways - where we became real people.
About the band Orchard & Ponds:
Stephen Tyler & I have collaborated in many capacities as musicians over the past two years. Having grown up in the same small town area but being some years apart, it is curious we would eventually live in the same apartment building and then go on to write music about our collective hometown. This album represents the culmination of our work together (note: not the conclusion). It represents two years of talking about the type of music we ultimately wanted to make and then a solid year of making that happen in our small home studio.
**We will do things a bit differently with this PF release. To encourage the enjoyment of this record in its entirety, here are the first three tracks, please consider downloading the album and sitting down with it (or driving wonderful back roads with it playing at obscene volumes.)**
Immanent Voiceless (Ivan Khilko) played at Lucky Cheng’s and here is the result, in two parts. Ivan also is half of Destroyer of Worlds. This set is from August 21, 2008.

please. play these loudly. they were mixed for such an experience. even on your laptop speakers. play them as loud as humanly possible. but not if there are children in the room. children’s ears are sensitive.
anyway - why? well musical collaboration between beau and i runs back a few years now and when i see sketches like these i can not help but take them to my 3rd floor room of audio creation and destroy them. it is what we do best, mangle each others creative vision! beau used software to make this, so i took it outside the box and used hardware to make the universe balanced again.

Insect Factory is one of DC’s best experimental outfits. Here’s a heretofore unreleased Insect Factory track and its accompanying remix by Beau Finley using almost solely the final take of the original; there are 8 notes in there that aren’t in the original.
This summer, I’ve spent a lot of time in Bladen County, North Carolina near Wilmington. It’s a small county and has become a second or third home to me. Living down here has been a weird mix of emotions as I’m going through a rough spot at the end of a relationship and am doing so in a vacuum. This is a FM synthesis based set of four improvised noise tracks with some post-production. It’s short, too.
